Downtown Austin Plan

Downtown Austin is the heart and hub of the city, and it's changing as Austin grows. In the last decade, Downtown has seen a remarkable transformation, with the addition of new housing, retail, and civic destinations to its existing employment.

How will this change be sustainable over the next 25 years or more? What is the vision of the community for tomorrow's Downtown? How can Downtown help create new opportunities for quality of life and sustainable growth locally and throughout the region?

The Downtown Austin Plan is an effort to capture and develop the community vision for Downtown and to create the best implementation strategy for achieving that vision. The City of Austin and its consulting team, led by ROMA Design Group, are working with citizens and Downtown stakeholders on a planning process that will set the direction for Downtown for years to come.
